Wominjeka Afternoon
Parents and carers are invited to join us for our drop-in Wominjeka Afternoon on Tuesday March 11th 3:45-5:30pm.
Thank you to everyone who attended the 2024 School Council Reporting Meeting last night. It was a wonderful time to acknowledge and celebrate the successes of the 2024 school council, and to welcome the 2025 school council.
If you weren’t able to attend the evening please download a digital copy of the 2024 School Council Report.
I would like to acknowledge outgoing school council members whose children have now graduated: Ned Martin and Liam Brown. Both, Ned and Liam have contributed to the school in numerous ways over many years and have made a huge positive impact on the school.
I would also like to acknowledge Cara Nicholson and Rachelle Madden who did not seek re-election to the school council for 2025. Both, Cara and Rachelle have also made huge contributions to the school over many years and while they are stepping down from the council, they will continue to be big part of our school community. Thank you both.
Thank you also to those who nominated for the school council this year. Initially we received nine nominations with two withdrawing before the election. It was pleasing to see two new members elected this year, Jess Tran and Annie Walsh, alongside seasoned veterans Gena Kolin and David Nicholls.
2025 School Council
A series of school council meetings were held last night. At the first meeting Alex Price was co-opted as a parent member against the casual vacancy caused by Ned Martin departing mid-term. The council also co-opted Katriona Ramones and Joshua Smith as community members of the school council. Congratulations to Alex, Katriona and Josh, we are thrilled to have you join the school council.
At the second school council meeting held last night, Katie Brown was elected as School Council President, David Nicholls as Vice-President and Rob Smith as Treasurer.
Convenors of sub-committees were also elected as follows:
Fundraising: Gena Kolin
OSHC: Alex Price
Environment: Annie Walsh
Canteen: Katriona Romanes
Strategic Outlook: Jess Tran
Community: Angie Rehak
The full school council is Richard Olsen, Katie Brown, David Nicholls, Rob Smith, Angie Rehak, Jess Tran, Annie Walsh, Alex Price, Katriona Romans, Joshua Smith, Andrew Williamson, Georgia Vabre, Emily Fintelman, and Daniel Twomey.
