Our strategic planning allows us to reflect on past performance, establish future directions, and decide our definition of success. This planning occurs in two parts:
- Four Year Strategic Plan: The goals in this plan are based on initiatives from the Framework for Improved Student Outcomes (FISO)—a Department of Education and Training initiative that provides a common language and an enquiry-based approach to improvement across Victorian Government schools.
- Annual Implementation Plan: Each year we develop an annual implementation plan (AIP). The AIP supports the operationalisation of the four-year School Strategic Plan, articulating how we school will implement, monitor and evaluate progress against the School Strategic Plan each year.
Our 2022-2025 Strategic Plan goals are as follows:
- To maximise learning growth for all students in literacy and numeracy.
- To improve student wellbeing and engagement through increased student agency.
2023 Annual Implementation Plan:
For 2023 the Department of Education (DE) updated the requirements for the AIP in order to refocus our efforts on a set of two common, core priorities after COVID19:
- Learning – Support both those who need scaffolding and those who have thrived to continue to extend their learning, especially in numeracy
- Build staff capacity in differentiation in Numeracy to identify and meet students’ individual learning needs.
- Wellbeing – Effectively mobilise available resources to support students’ wellbeing and mental health, especially the most vulnerable
- Strengthen the whole school approach towards social and emotional learning.
In addition to these core priorities from DE we will also be focussing on:
- Reviewing current practices and drafting a whole-school pedagogical approach to Reading and Writing.
- Strengthening our whole school approach to Goal Setting and Student Led Conferences.
